During the trip you will get acquainted with the history of Peterhof, its inhabitants who lived there at different times, as well as you will learn the most unexpected facts from the history of St. Petersburg and Peterhof .
You will stop at the Upper Peterhof Park and an individual one-hour tour of the Grand Palace of Peterhof will be waiting for you. The Grand Palace is certainly the center of the Peterhof ensemble. Peter I himself thought out the initial image of the future Palace, and also chose its location.
Then you will have an excursion to two small museums/palaces of Peterhof from all their variety.
One of the most famous is the Monplaisir Palace, built by decree of Peter I and facing the Gulf of Finland. For protection from cold winds, the facade walls facing the Gulf of Finland were made thicker and stronger. There are firecracker fountains in front of the Palace.
Ensemble of the Marli Palace. It is located between sector ponds and Marlin pond. Ponds were also used for economic purposes – they bred fish for the Royal table. Fish were trained to come to feed at the sound of a bell, which was fun for the Royal family and guests. The ensemble of the Palace “Marli” is protected from the cold winds of the Gulf of Finland due to the high rampart, which was built from the ground when organizing ponds.
The Upper and Lower grottos — the architectural center of the Grand cascade of Peterhof-are very interesting to visit. There are firecracker fountains in the Lower grotto. Visitors can see tunnels with water pipes and an exhibition dedicated to the work of fountain masters of the past.
We will be happy to show you all these ensembles, as well as other attractions of Peterhof: the Hermitage pavilion, the Museum “Sovereign’s Fun”, the Museum “Imperial yachts”, the Museum” Feldjegersky Domik”, the Museum” Church building”, the Museum” Special storeroom”, the Museum” Catherine building”,” Gothic chapel”,”Park Alexandria”.
