Before the tour, you will be met by a guide at the address of your request and escorted to the car. This will start your one-hour trip to Alexandria. During the trip, you will learn about the history of the Palace and Park ensemble.
First, you will take a fascinating hour-long walk-a tour of the Park of Alexandria, which is one of the most beautiful parks of Russian romanticism on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. Various architectural solutions in the neo-Gothic style emphasized the romantic spirit of the place. Guardhouses, cast-iron wells, intricate bridges, secluded gazebos and benches were created in the Park. A Ruined bridge spanning a deep ravine and a “stone sofa” carved into a huge boulder have survived to this day.
The tour will continue with one-hour excursions to the museums of the Palace and Park ensemble.
On the territory of the Park “Alexandria” you will find a Gothic chapel. It is one of the dominants of the Park, built in the neo-Gothic style and served as the home Church for the Imperial family.
There are two palaces in the Park-a Cottage and a farm Palace. We recommend visiting them.
The cottage is an unusual and distinctive Palace. This is a unique monument of the romantic era, which has preserved its original appearance to the present day. The interior of the Palace is filled with authentic exhibits that recreate for us the atmosphere of seminal comfort of the Royal family.
The farm Palace is a kind of unique Palace, which turned from a Farm building into a favorite place for recreation and work of the Emperor Alexander II. The Palace still keeps personal belongings and items of decoration of the Emperor Alexander II and his wife Maria Alexandrovna. During the summer, guests will enjoy the beauty and brightness of the Empress’s private garden.
You can take a tour of the Palace Telegraph Station Museum. The building of the Palace Telegraph station was built in 1858.
At the end of the tour, the guide will accompany you to the car, and you will return to St. Petersburg at the address on your request.
