Before the tour, you will be met by a guide at the address of your request and escorted to the car. This will start your one-hour trip to Pushkin . Your path will take you exactly along the road that the Royal family used to take to their country residence. Along the way, you can see many sights: Pulkovo heights-the heroic front line during World war II; the Egyptian gate, built at the beginning of the XIX century at the entrance to Tsarskoe Selo; Kitaeva’s dacha, where Alexander Pushkin spent the summer of 1831 with his young wife Natalia Nikolaevna Goncharova (now the dacha houses the Pushkin Museum); Alexander Park, and, of course, near the Catherine Palace You will see the famous Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum – perhaps the most famous educational institution in our country and the place where the young Sasha Pushkin grew up. Much of what you will see during the tour is listed as a UNESCO world cultural heritage site.
Upon arrival in Tsarskoe Selo, you will take an hour-long tour to the Catherine Palace, a monument of Russian Baroque, the official summer residence of three Russian monarchs.
The halls of the Catherine Palace are admired for their luxurious design and the splendor of their art collections. Here you can find the Amber study or Amber room recreated by restorers — one of the most famous rooms of the Great Catherine Palace.
The tour to Tsarskoe Selo continues with a two-hour walk through Catherine Park. An example of a French Park is the Old garden adjacent to the Palace. It houses marble sculptures that were purchased by Peter I, elegant gazebos and bronze statues. Then, behind the antique Cameron gallery, begins the English landscape Park, for which thousands of trees and shrubs were planted and the terrain was changed: a pond with channels and hills were created. The Park contains monuments to the victories of Russian weapons.
At the end of the tour, the guide will accompany you to the car, and you will return to St. Petersburg at the address on your request.
